Description

MONTSERRAT’S BLACK MADONNA & THE SINGING ANGELS

From Barcelona a 50 minute fun drive will take us to this feminin, round, kind and spiritual mountain that will make us dream with its incredible rock formations that look like a giant, a mummy or even God’s finguer! The views from the Monastery of Montserrat are magnificent and you really feel like in heaven!

The Benedictin monks that live in the Monastery take care of the Black Madonna or the “Moreneta” as catalans call her. She is St. Mary of Montserrat, the Patroness of Catalunya and to who the Boys Choir sing like angels full of love for her. She is inside the Basilica and we will be able to see her.

We will light a candle to make a wish or prayer and then we will do a short walk to St. Miquel sightseeing point to get hungry enough to taste all the variety of cheese and honey and local products sold at the farmers market. You will also have the chance of tasting the best Mató of Catalonia and…howcome not…the stone chocolate!!

Duration: 5 hours.

Transportation needed: chauffered tour.

Meeting point: at your hotel in Barcelona city.

NOTE: if you choose the option of pick up/drop off from/to the port or airport, the duration of the tour starts once we get to city.

My husband and I took a full day private tour with Eva, who was an absolutely delightful guide. This was our first time in Barcelona and Eva provided us with a wonderful introduction to this dynamic city. She is very well informed and made things so interesting. The tour to Montserrat was so exciting and really an spiritual experience. The views were spectacular and really felt like heaven! Would highly recommend taking a tour with her!

Great tour! Our guide was so personal. My kids loved her and her English was excellent! We loved our guide so much that we booked her again the next day! Highly recommendable for families.
