The Magic Fountain in Barcelona
Barcelona’s Magic Dancing Fountain is the most famous in Barcelona, the best loved landmark and a top touristic attraction. Around 2.5 million people visit the Magic Dancing Fountain each year and fall in love with it…or thanks to it!! The site is open to the public and it’s free admission.

The show is a display of light, music, colour and water acrobatics and its first performance was on May 19th 1929 during the Great Universal Exhibition and designed by CARLES BUIGAS. The monument was fully restored for the 1992 Olympic Games of Barcelona.
The music ranges from film music shows, classical music shows such as The Godfather, Disney movies, Star Wars, E.T, Lord of the Rings, and the most awaited one: “Barcelona” by Freddie Mercury and Montserrat Caballé.
The long stairs from the Fountain to the the Palau Nacional building (now the MNAC Museum) are the best place to observe the show.
This fountain is one of those memories one never forgets…
